In October, I had the opportunity to teach an ekphrastic writing workshop at MING Studios inspired by The Island of Doubt, an art show by Boise-based artist Veiko Valencia.

The workshop focused on the personification and characterization of the vivid color palette employed in the pieces, which included traditional paintings and mixed-media sculptures.

I was joined by Susan Lasater, the event organizer and an all-around awesome human/artist/writer. Below are a few photos of the workshop I facilitated, which was both lively and intimate.
