Welcome to the event page for “Reverberations: Bearing Witness to Our Loss,” my and Rebecca Evans collaborative book tour that celebrates the joint release of our new respective books, Lost Cathedral and AfterBurn. During 2026, Rebecca and I are offering 1-2 workshops, readings, and other literary ephemera each month as a way to give back to the literary community that has embraced, supported, and inspired us and our work. Join us for an enchanted summer evening of live music and spoken-word performances where sound and language intertwine.
On July 26th, Ochos Cocktail & Wine Bar will host “Echoes & Entanglement,” an evening of live music and performance that showcases four artists who interweave and reverberate sound and words, blending ideas, erasing boundaries, and surpassing limitations.
Musical interludes will be led by St. Terrible and Matt Bunk. Literary performances will be led by Rebecca Evans and Hannah Rodabaugh. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.
Join us on July 29th for a literary reading at Secret World Books in Highland Park featuring award-winning authors Rebecca Evans, Gayle Brandeis, and Hannah Rodabaugh.
Hannah Rodabaugh & Rebecca Evans are on the move, visiting the Chicago-area as part of a multistate book tour for their new poetry and essay collections Lost Cathedral (Cornerstone Press) and AfterBurn: Essays Built from Heat and Ashes (Moon Tide Press).
Secret World Books, co-owned by Gayle Brandeis, was founded to foster resistance, resilience, and healing in the Chicago area. The bookstore continues to stand up to book bans and other forces that want to tear and erase necessary stories from readers, communities, and cultures.
Participants will receive a free novelty pen for every book purchased at the event. This event is free, accessible, and open to the public.
Join us on July 30th for an empowering workshop at Secret World Books in Highland Park led by touring authors Rebecca Evans and Hannah Rodabaugh designed to help you tap into your trauma and transform it through writing.
This poetry and essay hybrid workshop is designed to rewild and release the feral and darker side of your writing. The interactive session will guide participants through fresh craft-based writing prompts and innovative exercises that offer a sense of unwounding and restoration.
Participants will find meaning and healing through exploring the positive impacts of rewilding, not only of loss and grief, but of the self. It’s a safe space to express, heal, and connect with others on the same journey.This event is free, accessible, and open to the public. Bring a journal, computer, pen, or whatever you create with.

Join us on August 1st at 5 p.m. for a literary reading at Mac’s Backs in Cleveland Heights featuring award-winning authors Rebecca Evans and Hannah Rodabaugh.
Hannah Rodabaugh & Rebecca Evans are on the move, touring in the Cleveland-area as part of a multistate book tour for their new poetry and essay collections Lost Cathedral (Cornerstone Press) and AfterBurn: Essays Built from Heat and Ashes (Moon Tide Press).
Mac’s Backs Books, founded in 1978, has been a cornerstone of Northeast Ohio’s literary community for nearly five decades, offering new and used books while hosting readings, workshops, and one of the region’s longest-running poetry series.

Join us Sunday, August 2nd from 1-9 p.m. for Reemergence: a day of poetry, art, & music at the LOOP Youngstown Arts & Culture Center, co-hosted by Lit Youngstown.
From 1-3 p.m., Rebecca and Hannah will teach their popular workshop “How To Uncage Your Trama,” followed by pizza buffet from 5-6 p.m. Space is limited, so you’ll want to register ASAP.
The evening event (6-9 p.m.) will feature art exhibitions, literary readings, and live music from 15 LOOP Studio Artists.
Rebecca and Hannah will also read from their books Lost Cathedral (Cornerstone Press) and AfterBurn: Essays Built from Heat and Ashes (Moon Tide Press) as part of their multistate book tour.
