Last month, I got to help plan and host an Earth Day Poetry Reading as part of the BSU Department of Sustainability’s Earth Week 2019.
I was joined by Kat Davis, Lisa Hecht, and Pei-Lin Yu in planning and hosting the event.
We held the event at the College of Innovation and Design on the BSU Campus. BSU students made stage backdrops out of recycled cardboard and bottle caps.
We had readers from all across the Treasure Valley, including BSU students and faculty, local writers, Boise City Council members (including Boise’s current mayor, Lauren McLean), and members of Boise’s refugee community.
After the reading, Kat Davis raffled off some awesome gifts from local businesses.
We are excited to make the event even better for Earth Day 2020!
